Underwater Camera Insurance

Now you can insure your valuable underwater camera equipment.

Most insurers will only insure your camera equipment when it is secured at your home or office and place severe restrictions and limitations on cover outside these situations. Travel insurance will offer limited cover when you are overseas, but most of these insurances are totally inadequate.

Now you can insure your underwater cameras and housings with a single policy and be covered for:

Some Top Tips to help you keep your underwater camera equipment safe:

THEFT COVER
Provided your equipment is supervised or in a secured environment like your home, a locked vehicle or a robust and secured case when travelling, our insurance will protect your against theft of your equipment.

This cover operates worldwide for up to 28 days and can be extended if required. Please call us for more details.

LOSS in TRANSIT
Cameras and accessories are tempting and lucrative targets for thieves while you are travelling.

The Protecsure policy will cover your photographic equipment for both theft and accidental damage while your are in transit.

To minimise the chances of damage, we recommend robust travel cases be used for camera equipment. Wraped in wetsuits in a soft travel bag is probably not the ideal packing method.

THEFT FROM A LOCKED VEHICLE
Most insurance policies will not cover camera equipment agains theft from a vehicle, but this does occur and many claims are received due to this occurance.

Our policy covers your underwater camera equipment if it stolen from your locked vehicle by forced entry.

Other policies stipulate that your equipment should be out of sight, preferably in a locked boot. We always encourage the protection of equipment from view, but will pay claims if this is not the case and your underwater camera equipment is stolen via forced entry.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE COVER
More claims are received for accidental damage to photographic equipment that for theft. Typically dropping cameras and lenses and also liquid spills.

Underwater cameras pose higher risks and most underwater photographers are very conscientious about their equipment before entering the water, but accidents can and unfortunately do happen.

Having a fully featured insurance policy that offers cover for these events makes sense.

Underwater camera equipment will not be covered if the equipment is taken beyond the approved depth rating recommended or specified by the manufacturers of the underwater camera equipment and the accessories.

WORLDWIDE COVER; 28 days per trip (extendable)
Divers are keen travellers and the average insurance policy will provide virtually no cover for your underwater camera equipment equipment.

With our underwater camera insurance policy, your cameras are covered for trips of up to 28 days and this can be extended by payment of an additional premium.

We recommend that underwater camera equipment is transported in robust, locked camera cases when flying and travelling overseas and that underwater housing are not sealed due to damage that could be sustained during flight pressure changes.

POLICY EXCESS from $100
Many home, contents and business policies have an excess of $250 or more, which adds to the financial burden when you have to make a claim.

Our insurance policies offer an excess from as little as $100, meaning you will be far less out of pocket in the event of a claim.

USE YOUR OWN REPAIRER
Many insurance companies have preferred repairers and will shop around for the cheapest price to repair or replace your equipment.

With our policy, we simply ask you to go back to where you purchased your dive gear or camera equipment and obtain a quote from them. In 99% of cases this will be approved, allowing you to select the repairer of your choice. You can of course take your equipment to any repairer, so long as they are qualified and their quote is reasonable.
